Raising Our Joyful Sounds to God in Worship
Music has long been a joyous, integral part of our church. It contributes to the beauty of our worship service and the spiritual life of our members and community. Our music ministry is a unique opportunity to “sound the praise divine” in each of us. Our full-time Music Director, Douglas Kostner, leads the congregation’s song.
We are saddened to suspend all vocal music rehearsals and performances until further notice because of the COVID-19 pandemic. When in-person worship resumes, our music program will include instrumental music and a new Handbell Choir.
LAC’s Chancel Choir and Children’s Choirs will resume after the threat of COVID-19 has subsided.
One of the special features of our music program is that it freely joins professionals with amateurs and draws on the surrounding community through collaborations with The Larchmont Music Academy and the Westchester Chorale. We do not passively listen as at a concert, but fully participate in raising our joyful sounds to God through worship.
If you were to add up all of the participants in all of the musical groups and all of the guest musicians over the past year, you would find close to 200 singers and musicians engaged in making music at LAC during the course of the year. Your active participation and support makes it possible!
